Dani Rodrik has noted the conflicting demands of blogging and writing a book – I sympathize! I'm looking foward to his next one, The Globalization Paradox, due out early in 2011. Although I don't always agree with him, he's a terrific economist and writer. I particularly respect the forcefulness with which he's criticized the endless regressions run on macro data for developing countries, whose results often mean very little. There isn't enough in those data to answer the kinds of questions people often want to pose, so less scrupulous economists just torture the statistics until they give the desired answer.
Events seem to have turned opinion about globalization in the direction of Rodrik's scepticism, as he'll no doubt point out. Still, it will be interesting to see what he has to say about post-Crash globalization.
